Since 2010 the Healing Gift Free Clinic has provided basic medical services to vulnerable and uninsured people in the Omaha area. All services are free to patients, so health insurance is not needed to be seen by one of our volunteer medical professionals. The Clinic also can provide help in the form of referrals to other community services, including; housing, transportation, utilities & insurance.
The clinic served its first patients in February of 2010 and operated inside Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church for the first 7&1/2 years. Late in the Fall of 2017, the clinic was able to re-locate to a newly constructed facility known as Kountze Commons. In this new building located at 2665 Douglas Street, the clinic shares space with several other community organizations. Together with its partners, the clinic will continue to provide much needed services to those in need, empowering them toward health of the body, mind, and spirit.
The Healing Gift Free Clinic maintains an on-site Pharmacy. The Pharmacy is fully-licensed with State of Nebraska and is staffed by licensed Pharmacists, Interns, and Technicians. Services at the Pharmacy include filling of many of the prescriptions prescribed by our clinic Physicians at no charge to the patient, counseling on medication usage, and assistance in obtaining additional medications from Pharmaceutical manufacturers through their various Patient Assistance Programs.
This position is responsible for managing the general office and clinic administration for the Healing Gift Free Clinic (HGFC), a non-profit organization (501[c][3]) that provides free medical services and prescriptions for those in need.
